Dongguan Chang'an Premium Weaving Factory
Answers Found On-Site
In 2003, before HIROMONO was founded, this was the first comprehensive planning project of my career — a premium woven garment factory in Chang'an, Dongguan. To ensure the design met actual operational needs, I spent a week stationed at the factory, documenting production processes in real time. I tracked fabric inbound logistics, measured turning space in unloading areas, observed workflow paths across cutting rooms, marked bottleneck positions, and recorded voltage specs and steam line configurations for pressing equipment. Only by fully understanding the old factory's operations could I provide reliable data for the new factory's design. Once data collection was complete, my role shifted from designer to coordinator. I worked with factory management on optimization plans: restructuring workshop teams into assembly line models, implementing POS systems and barcode technology for precise tracking of fabric pieces from cutting to finished product.
"The value of design lies not in the imagination of blueprints, but in the discoveries made on-site."

LovePlusHope Charity Knitwear Factory
The Value of Pragmatism
HIROMONO was officially established in 2008. The following year, we participated in the competitive tender for the LovePlusHope charity knitwear factory project initiated by Hong Kong's Chung Nam Group. The project aimed to preserve local light industry craftsmanship by inviting experienced textile masters back to work. Eight firms competed for the design contract. Another firm won, with a proposal emphasizing the project's charitable mission and emotional narrative. Our tender documents focused on material storage logistics, segmented production processes, electrical load estimates, and equipment specifications — a purely engineering and technical approach. Though we did not secure the design commission, the client highly recognized the pragmatism and executability of our proposal, proactively entrusting us with full project management authority for the entire construction, overseeing coordination and execution. The project was delivered successfully.
"The realization of ideas must be built upon rigorous engineering execution."
COVA F&B Project
The Accumulation of Expertise
In 2009, our company was invited by Italian brand COVA to quote for their Pacific Place takeaway shop project. We submitted a detailed equipment list and electrical load calculations. As the company was newly established, the first collaboration did not materialize. A year later, COVA was preparing a Harbour City project encompassing a dining area, chocolate retail section, and supporting kitchen. The client contacted us proactively, noting they were impressed by the professionalism of our previous quotation. At that time, the client had only provided preliminary floor plans and simple elevation sketches, without detailed construction drawings. We transformed the initial concept into an executable plan, systematically resolving each construction stage, and successfully delivered the project. One year after completion, the client entrusted us fully with the major renovation of the COVA flagship store at Lee Gardens.
"Professional expertise may not be adopted at first contact, but it will be remembered."
TWG & Bacha Coffee
Replicating Brand Spaces Across Borders
In 2011, through a recommendation from Harbour City's leasing department, a prominent Singaporean F&B group approached us regarding their premium tea brand TWG. The client planned to open Hong Kong's first 'retail + dining' hybrid store at IFC, along with a food factory at Shek Mun. To accurately replicate the brand's spatial standards, I visited TWG's Singapore flagship store to document spatial layout, furniture specifications, decorative details, and other key data as the basis for construction drawings. Our team completed the full construction drawing set and coordinated the build on the client's behalf. This trust has endured. In 2023, when the group's sister brand Bacha Coffee entered Hong Kong, the client once again entrusted us with detailed design, project management, and construction coordination. A partnership spanning over thirteen years stands as the greatest testament to our pragmatic execution capabilities.
"The purpose of design is to precisely transform brand spirit into tangible, executable spatial reality."
